Application of Wavelet Analysis and Wavelet Packet in Image Denosing

The wavelet packet, which is used wildly in the image denosing field, is developed from the wavelet analyzing theory. In the paper, the basic theory of wavelet analysis and wavelet packet is described simply, the methods and techniques of the image denoising based on wavelet analysis and wavelet packet are analyzed. Then this paper tells of how to use Matlab 7 for computer simulations respectively on the same noised images, and discusses the simulation results in detail.The simulation experiment has proved that denoising effects of the image are related to the threshold selection, and that the Wavelet Packet has better effects in image denoising.
