The crabyne polysulfide as cathode material for lithium batteries had a perfect performance during charge-discharge cycles. The capacity retention was 60.21% after 200 cycles, and the efficiency were almost 100%. Its charge-discharge principle was investigated by different current discharge, cyclic voltammetry, and X-Ray Diffraction and RAMAN spectrum methods were used at different charging-discharging stages. The results indicate that Li2S was not created and some new materials were found in crabyne polysulfide, and this was the essential reason of the stable reversible capacity.
