The Research Status and Latest Progress of Waterborne Polyurethane Intumescent Flame Retardant Coatings

Waterborne polyurethane coatings without the flame retardant treatment are flammable,so the research about the flame retardant waterborne polyurethane is an important research direction.The classification of waterborne polyurethane flame retardant coatings was introduced.Flame retardant coatings can be categorized as blending and reactive compound,intumescent and non-intumescent according to different classification criteria.Flame retardant effect and flame retardant mechanisms of waterborne polyurethane flame retardant coatings were discussed and the research of intumescent flame retardant polyurethane coatings was highlighted.Finally,the problems which waterborne intumescent flame retardant polyurethane coating existed and the trends of waterborne intumescent flame retardant polyurethane coatings development are were proposed.
