Research Progress of Thermorplastic Starch-based Biodegradable Materials

Thermoplastic starch possesses full biodegradable properties that have become one of the important research aspects in the environmental protection field recently. In this paper, the micro-shapes of several common starches are introduced. The current research status of thermoplastic starch and some synthesized polymer systems are demonstrated with emphasis. The new advancement of the thermoplastic and natural polymer system is summarized. In the end, the potential development of this material is put forward.
