Investigation on Cultivar Resources and Growth Analysis of Paeonia suffruticosa in Enshi

Paeonia suffruticosa Andr.was one of the traditional famous flowers in China.The cultivar resources of P.suffruticosa in Enshi were studied,and different growth indices were tested through field investigation and consulting references.Preliminary investigation results showed that the resources of P.suffruticosa distributed in the whole Enshi region.The cultivation was concentrated in Huaping town of Jianshi county and Tuanbao town of Lichuan city area.6 local cultivars of P.suffruticosa in Enshi were P.suffruticosa cv.Fengdanbai,P.suffruticosa cv.Jianshijinpaohong,P.suffruticosa cv.Hulan,P.suffruticosa cv.Jianshifen,P.suffruticosa cv.Chunhongzhengyan and P.suffruticosa cv.Dajinfen.There was no obvious difference among growth indices of 3 different spots,but there was remarkable differences in growth indices of 6 cultivars.These cultivars had steady morphological characters and growth adaptability owing to adapted to local climate and geographical conditions.They possessed both ornamental and medicinal value and had good prospects in the development and application.
