Constitution and Criminal Justice

Abstract This entry examines criminal justice issues that are covered in the US Constitution and how rights guaranteed by the US Constitution are interpreted and applied to the criminal justice system and criminal defendants. It also summarizes the US Supreme Court's relevant opinions on these issues and the role of judicial activism in expanding criminal defendants' rights and limiting law enforcement.
