[Expert consensus on home management of colorectal cancer patients with enterostomy (2026 version)].

Enterostomy constitutes a crucial intervention in the comprehensive treatment of colorectal cancer, often resulting in significant alterations in patients' body image and defecation patterns post-surgery. During the home-based rehabilitation phase, individuals with an enterostomy encounter not only technical challenges associated with stoma care and the prevention of complications but also psychosocial difficulties such as psychological stress, role adaptation, and barriers to social reintegration. The adoption of evidence-based home management strategies has the potential to enhance patients' self-care capabilities, mitigate anxiety and depression, and decrease the likelihood of hospital readmission. Presently, there is no established consensus regarding home management for colorectal cancer patients with an enterostomy in China. Under the leadership of the Ostomy and Wound Integrated Care Professional Committee of the China Anti-Cancer Association, this expert consensus was formulated through a comprehensive review of both domestic and international literature, integrating the latest evidence from evidence-based medicine and clinical experience, and developed through multiple rounds of expert correspondence and panel discussions. Utilizing the evidence quality and recommendation strength grading system established by the Australian Joanna Briggs Institute (JBI) Evidence-Based Healthcare Center, the consensus document delineates six critical aspects of home management for colorectal cancer patients with an enterostomy: team building, stoma care, home-based daily living support, psychosocial support, follow-up management, and complication management. Entitled "Expert consensus on home management of colorectal cancer patients with an enterostomy (2026 version)," this consensus seeks to offer standardized guidance for the home management of patients with an enterostomy.
