摘要
As Asian populations predominantly exhibit a thin periodontal phenotype, associated fenestrations and dehiscences pose risks during orthodontic treatment. Periodontally accelerated osteogenic orthodontics (PAOO) is a periodontal surgical procedure that combines corticotomy with bone augmentation. In current clinical practice, however, the application of particulate xenograft in PAOO is often hampered by their poor handling properties and limited osteoinductive potential. Sticky bone is created by mixing particulate bone substitute with autologous platelet concentrates, forming a viscoelastic, three-dimensional fibrin-rich matrix laden with growth factors. This paper reviews the biological characteristics of sticky bone and explores its clinical application in PAOO in the context of addressing common challenges associated with traditional PAOO surgery.
