摘要
Abstract Compared with the well‐developed oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) in fuel cells, proton‐exchange membrane fuel cells and metal‐air batteries, the applications of ORR in electrochemical synthesis are less investigated. The electrogenerated superoxide ions O 2 −. , products of ORR, can function as bases, nucleophiles, oxidants, reductants, electron transfer shuttles as well as free radicals. Herein, the advances in the electroorganic field involving oxygen reduction reactions are summarized in order to inspire innovations regarding the application of ORR for novel organic transformations. magnified image
