The role of the tutor

This chapter discusses the responsibilities of a tutor in the problem-based learning (PBL) programmes of the Maastricht Faculty of Health, Medicine and Life Sciences (FHML) as well as the main tasks tutors must perform to fulfil these responsibilities. It covers the preparation of teachers for the role of tutor and aids available to tutors. The outcomes of research on the tutor role are also reviewed.
