Biocompatible fluorescent europium(iii) magnetic nanoparticles

Silica-coated iron oxide and silica nanoparticles were prepared and derivatized with a Eu( iii ) complex to yield magneto-fluorescent and fluorescent nanomaterials that could work as possible biosensors.
