In evaluating radiation damage, suitable biological'' radiation dosimetry is of great importance. The method must be simple and, at the same time, sensitive. Tests that were made to determine changes in the quenching effect'' through the serum of irradiated animals with the aid of a liquid scintillation counter and a special scintillation solution system are described. Characteristic differences were found in the tritium-standard measurement yield before and after irradiation with various doses of Co/sup 60/ in the LD/sub 50/ range. (auth)
