Korla’s Xiangli,Yali, and Jinfengli pear cultivars were used as materials to make sure the relationship between pear fruit calyx shed or persistence and phytohormone content. IAA,ABA,GA3,ZR content in pear calyx and young fruit were determined using Enzyme-linked Immunosorbent Assays (ELISA) method. The results showed that there was an affinitive relationship between phytohormone content in pear calyx, young fruit and pear calyx shed or persistence. The factors promoting calyx persistence were as follows: high content of IAA and ZR in young fruit, high content of IAA, GA3 and ZR in calyx, low content of ABA in calyx, high ratio of IAA,GA3,ZR between calyx and young fruit, low ratio of ABA between calyx and young fruit. The factors promoting calyx shed were on the contrary.
