The composition and structure of the meta-uranocircite Ba(UO{sub 2}){sub 2}(PO{sub 4}){sub 2} {center_dot} 6H{sub 2}O (1) are studied through the methods of the elementary analysis, IR spectroscopy and X-ray structural analysis. It is established that the compound 1 is crystallized by the elementary cell parameters a=6.965 (3), b = 6.964 (2), c = 17.65 (1) A, {gamma} = 90 deg, sp.gr. P2{sub 1}, Z=2. The [U{sub 2}PO{sub 4}]{sup -} mixed composition layers, constructed from the uranyl ions and PO{sub 4} tetrahedrons and bipyramids, constitute the basis of the crystalline structure.
