Physical properties of starch plasticized by a mixture of plasticizers

• The effect of mixture of plasticizers glycerol and urea on properties of starch was investigated. • Urea plasticized starch has much higher tensile strength and Young's modulus. • Urea is more efficient then glycerol in destroying the hydrogen bonding in starch.
