Application of Quartz Fiber Reinforced Composite Material in High Frequency Radome

Fiberglass reinforced resin composite materials are a kind of radome material that has been widely used, which is mainly used in the 10 GHz range. For a high-frequency material (10–20 GHz), it is necessary to use quartz fiber with better electricity as the reinforcing material. In this paper, quartz fiber was used as the reinforcing material, epoxy resin was used as the matrix material, and the silicon fiber reinforced composite material was prepared through the autoclave molding progressing. Besides, the dielectric properties of the radome in the high frequency band have been tested in a darkroom. The results showed that the radome made of quartz fiber reinforced composite with the dielectric constant of 3.78 and the angle tangent of 0.0002 and rubber reinforced materials could be applied under high pressure.
