Water-triggered optical response in Tb3+-doped CaSnF6 crystals for high-security anti-counterfeiting application

An irreversible phase transformation of CaSnF 6 :Tb 3+ crystals upon exposure to water was reported for the first time, accompanied by the formation of CaF 2 :Tb 3+ nanocrystals and a notable increase in green emission intensity.
