Synthesis of 2-aminoresorcinol hydrochloride

Objective The synthesis of 2-aminoresorcinol hydrochloride was studied.Method 1,3-dihydroxybenzene was nitrated,then reducted with stannous chloride-hydrochloric acid and hydrazine hydrate respectively,and the product was salified with hydrochloride to attain the target compound.Results The yield of the reduction product was 89.8% and 95.3% respectively.Conclusion The reduction method with hydrazine hydrate has the advantages of mild condition,reproducibility and higher yield.
