Distortional buckling is an important buckling mode for cold-formed thin-walled lipped channels sections.Interaction of adjacent plates should be taken into consideration. The distortional buckling load depends significantly on the restraint by the webs to the flanges.Openings in webs will cause redistribution of stress and affect the interaction of adjacent plates. On the basis of distortional buckling theories of webs with no holes, the distortional buckling behavior of cold-formed thin-walled lipped channels with web perforations subjected to axial compression was analyzed and studied by the finite element analysis software of ANSYS.The analysis includes the effects of the transverse and longitudinal spacing of holes, the size parameter of holes and the shape parameter of holes. In addition, the influence of sectional dimension on the distortional buckling behavior was analyzed. At last, according to the results of parametric analysis, the proposed advices for the configuration of holes on the web were given.
