RADIOACTIVE NUCLEI Cs~+ AND Sr~(2+) ADSORPTION ON ZEOLITE

The physicochemical and engineering properties of Xinjiang zeolite,including the cationic exchange capacity,hole structure,composition of particle size,density and permeability,has been researched.The CEC value of zeolite ore is 97.9 meq/100 g and CEC value of zeolite is 195.4 meq/100 g when pH is 7 with a permeability of 8.7×10~(-4) m/s.The adsorption experiment study shows that the zeolite has a good adsorption capacity to Cs~+ and Sr~(2+) and is better than Gaomiao bentonite in the Neimeng area.The adsorption capacity of Cs~+ and Sr~(2+)on zeolite are 162.6×10~(-3) and 74.9×10~(-3) respectively.The Cs~+ adsorption capacity on zeolite is distinctly improved and reaches to 234.5×10~(-3) after zeolite is treated by NaCl,NH_4NO_3 and HCl.Sr~(2+) adsorption capacity on zeolite does not have distinct change.The pH value of solution has a distinct effect to adsorption.Neutral and alkaline condition are beneficial to adsorption.
