Studies on fertilization biology of turbot(Psetta maxima)

The observations of fertilization of turbot show that the whole processes,such as sperm entering into egg,cortical reaction,the discharge of the second polar-body,forming male and the female pronucleus,two pronuclei fusing into zygote and then dividing into two cells eventually are almost the same as the processes of fertilization in the other teleost.One male pronucleus is observed in one egg.The male and the female pronuclei contact with each other and form the nucleus of zygote.It could be sure that the pattern of the fertilization of turbot is monospermy.
