Graduation ceremonies need to be accessible

Graduation is a happy time for colleges and universities and their students. Schools have provided for auxiliary aids and services and made modifications to their curricula to ensure that students with disabilities have a meaningful opportunity to achieve success in the classroom. Now with graduation season upon us, schools know how to accommodate students with disabilities at graduation ceremonies, but schools also need to recognize that graduation is not only for students, but also a time for celebration for students’ families and friends.
