The Banner Changing of Northeast China was Zhang Xueliang's major decision after his controlling of the Northeast China authorities.Zhang Xuelian's mental activities during the Banner Changing of Northeast China could be vividly reproduced with his oral historical materials. From a new angle, reasons for the banner changing could be concluded as:firstly,Zhang Xueliang's conformation to the times mainstream of national self-help and unification of China;secondly, his awareness of the fact that he was much less able than his father to cope with the complex situation in Northeast China(mainly felt boring of Japanese's obsession of conquering Northeast China at that time);thirdly, his firm eagerness for reunification of China and weak demand for conquering lands himself;and lastly,Japan killed his father, his hate for country being aggressed and father being bombed dead by Japanese, which strengthened Zhang Xueliang's determination to change the banner.
