Objective To observe the effects of curcumin on the proliferation and collagen synthesis of the cultured keloid fibroblasts in vitro and seek the effective drug for human keloid. Methods The human keloid fibroblasts were cultured in vitro. The MTT test and hydroxyproline chromatometry were used to detect the effects of curcumin on the proliferation and collagen synthesis of the cultured keloid fibroblasts. Results When compared with the control groups, curcumin can markedly inhibit the proliferation and collagen synthesis of the cultured keloid fibroblasts(P0.01). Conclusion Curcumin has anti-keloid effects in vitro and may be an effective drug for human keloid.
