Objective Heart failure is considered as one of fatal illnesses that threatens the lives of patients seriously.The aim of this study is to investigate the pathogenesis of heart failure.The establishment of an appropriate animal model is necessary for the research which is to simulate the physiopathologic change of left ventricular remodeling in congestive heart failure(CHF).Methods The rat model with pressure overload by abdominal aortic constriction was used.26 SD male rats were randomly divided into sham operation group and model group.It was observed after 4 and 8 weeks in the changes of myocardial hypertrophy(left ventricular mass index \,left ventricular myocardium HE staining,left ventricular myocytes ultra microstructure),and myocardial fibrosis(left ventricular myocardium collagen pathological coloring,left ventricular interstitial cardiac tissue ultra microstructure).Results After 4 and 8 weeks,LVMI in model group was higher than that in sham operation group(P0.01).Other abnormal changes of myocardial hypertrophy and myocardial fibrosis were also observed after 4 and 8 weeks.Conclusion After 4 weeks,the main physiopathologic changes of left ventricular remodeling were formed in the rat with pressure overload by abdominal aortic constriction,which was an appropriate model of left ventricular remodeling in CHF.
