Application of Calcium Hypochlorite Briquettes in Drinking Water Disinfection

According to the needs of rural water supply projects,a reliable calcium hypochlorite briquettes and easy management feeder are studied in this paper.Calcium hypochlorite disinfection is composed by calcium hypochlorite briquettes and automated pulsar 1 feeder.Simulated water plant test is carried out in laboratory.Results show that the dosage of calcium hypochlorite 0.3~0.5 L/h with pipe flow 9 m3/h,the water can reach the limits residual chlorine value 0.3mg/L required by the national drinking water health standards;the available chlorine is stable and decays slowly.Based on simulated water plant test,calcium hypochlorite disinfection is applied in Wanzhuang South Water Plant in Langfang.Optimal operating condition and continual running condition are examined in this paper.The practical application results show that the calcium hypochlorite disinfection method is reliable,simple and with less equipment maintenance,low running costs,the running cost is 0.012 5 yuan/m3.Therefore,calcium hypochlorite briquettes with special pulsar 1 feeder have a greater promotion value in rural water supply projects.
