Objective: To research the expressions of osteopontin( OPN) and phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase( PI3K) protein in cancerization of cervical cancer and their relationships with clinicopathological characteristics of cervical cancer, analyze the correlation between OPN expression and PI3K protein expression in cervical cancer tissue. Methods: Immunohistochemical SP method was used to detect the expression levels of OPN and PI3K protein in cervical samples of 120 cases with cervical cancer,57 cases with cervical intraepithelial neoplasia( CIN),and 39 cases with normal cervix. The significances of OPN and PI3K protein expressions in cervical tissue and their relationships with clinicopathological characteristics were analyzed by χ2test. The correlation between OPN expression and PI3K protein expression in cervical cancer tissue was analyzed by Spearman Rank correlation analysis. Results: The positive expression rates of OPN and PI3K protein in normal cervix group,CIN group, and cervical cancer group increased gradually, there were statistically significant differences( P 0. 001). There was no correlation between positive expression rates of OPN and PI3K protein and age, tumor size in cervical cancer group( P 0. 05),but the positive expression rates of OPN and PI3K protein were positively correlated with histological grades and lymph node metastasis( P 0. 05). The expression of PI3K protein was positively correlated with clinical stage( P 0. 05). Spearman Rank correlation analysis showed that there was a positive correlation between OPN expression and PI3K protein expression in cervical cancer tissue. Conclusion: Over-expressions of OPN and PI3K protein may play important roles in cancerization of cervical cancer.
