Objective To study the effect of Ganyanping on plasma homocysteine,cysteine,cysteinyl-glycine and glutathione of hepatic fibrosis of rats induced by CCl_4.Methods The rats were separated randomly into four groups: normal control group(N),Ganyanping-treated group(E),Huoluoshugan-treated group(H),and model group(M).The plasma homocysteine,cysteine,cysteinyl-glycine and glutathione were determined with high performance liquid chromatography(HPLC).Results The plasma homocysteine was decreased in Ganyanping-treated group and Huoluoshugan-treated group(H),showing significant difference(P0.05),as compared to the model group.Conclusion Ganyanping could reduce the level of plasma homocysteine by regulating the sulfur metabolism.It may be one of the antifibrotic mechanism of Ganyanping.
