Objective:It will use potentiometric titration to determine the glutaraldehyde concentration in disinfection and sterilization agent, and compare with manual titration of the acid-base titration. Methods: With 0.25 mol/L sulfuric acid solution as the standard titration solution,it will respectively use potentiometric titration and acid-base titration to determine glutaraldehyde concentration in disinfection and sterilization agent, and also use the outcome to calculate the coefficient of variation and establish the linear regression equation. Results: When glutaraldehyde concentration is between 2.0% and 2.2%,the reaction of the two methods is stable in 60~90 min.the coefficient of variation of potentiometric titration(0.08%)is significantly lower than manual titration(0.60%),when glutaraldehyde concentration determined by potentiometric titration is between 2.0% and 2.2% it is highly relevant with sulfuric acid titration solution(r=1).Conclusion: It has several advantages, such as easy to judge the endpoint, little error, high precision and so on,when using potentiometric titration to determine glutaraldehyde concentration in disinfection and sterilization agent. It is worth to spread.
