Analysis on Related Factors of 200 Cases’ Frostbite Resulting in Disability in Cold Highland Areas

Objective To discuss the factors related to human frostbite injury resulting in disability in cold highland areas. Methods A total of 200 patients with frostbite at an altitude of more than 3000 meters were analyzed on the relationship of disability with the frostbite inducement, the staying-time on the plateau, the treatment time after frostbite, the different parts of frostbite, and the different re-warming measures. Results Apart from the military training, the deformity rates of all the other inducement were above 71.4%. Frostbite injury was unrelated to the staying-time on plateau. The later the treatment time was from frostbite, the higher the morbidity rate was. The disability rate was unrelated to the body frostbite site. The deformity was the lowest when the wounded parts were re-warmed in the water of 38-40 ℃. Conclusion The rate of frostbite disability is high in cold highland areas, and timely and effective treatment after injury should be taken.
