Sections in the ternary system NaCl-CsCl-BiCl/sub 3/ have been studied by differential thermal, derivatographic, and X-ray analyses and by conductivity method. Phase diagrams of the sections NaBiCl/sub 4/-CsBiCl/sub 4/ and NaBiCl/sub 4/-Cs/sub 3/BiCl/sub 6/ have been plotted. The formation of the following compounds have been established: 3NaBiCl/sub 4/xCsBiCl/sub 4/(220/sup 0/); NaBiCl/sub 4/xCsBiCl/sub 4/(190/sup 0/) and NaBiCl/sub 4/x3CsBiCl/sub 4/(178/sup 0/); NaBiCl/sub 4/xCsBiCl/sub 6/(420/sup 0/) and NaBiCl/sub 4/x3Cs/sub 3/BiCl/sub 6/(590/sup 0/). The effects of polymorphic transformations of the compounds have been observed. Electric conductivity of NaBiCl/sub 4/x3Cs/sub 3/BiCl/sub 6/ in the temperature range from 300 to 644 deg C increases from 1x10/sup -5/ Ohm/sup -1/cm/sup -1/ to 0.34 Ohm/sup -1/cm/sup -1/ whereas activation energy drops from 34 to 20 kcal/mol.
