Urine is an important source of biomarkers. Present urinary biomarker studies face two major problems. First, since it is not possible to compare all diseases that may cause the changes of urinary proteome, a large number of currently identified biomarker candidates do not have disease‐specificity. Second, the confidences of some biomarker candidates are not satisfied, due to the limits of current experimental techniques or the biological variations of urinary proteome among healthy people. Here we set up the Urinary Biomarker Database by comprehensively collecting and manually curating of all published literatures of urinary biomarker discovery. Researchers can analysis their data conveniently and comprehensively by comparing them with experimental results stored in our website, so that to study physiological functions of urinary system or select the most likely biomarker candidates for further validation, with reduced experimental costs and higher research efficiency. By analyzing the collected data, current achievements and directions for future studies of urinary biomarker discovery can be figured out.
