Substituted 1,2,4,5-tetrazine is one of the important heterocyclic compounds that found widespread application in biological, industrial applications and utilized as a ligand in the synthesis of various metal complexes and metal-organic frameworks. This article will describe the recent theoretical and experimental studies, developments in the synthesis of novel 1,2,4,5-tetrazine derivatives, and the applications of 1,2,4,5-tetrazines from 2008 to 2018.
