THE SELECTIVE RADIATION DETECTION OF Cu K-$alpha$ RADIATION WITH PROPORTIONAL COUNTERS AND SINGLE-CHANNEL DISCRIMINATORS

The possibility was discussed for selective detection of Cu K- alpha radiation in characteristic copper radiation by means of a proportional counter in combination with a single-channel pulse-height analyzer. The energy resolution possibility of the counter forces Cu K- BETA radiation to be excluded from detection by a nickel filter. The radiation source and detector are described. The separation of the radiation constituents and the count loss are discussed. (M.C.G.)
