摘要
Szadek et al.1 published a review article at Pain Practice discussing sacroiliac joint (SIJ) pain diagnosis and treatment options. Authors reported importance of the history taking and physical exam. Provocative tests were reported to have high predictive value in some studies, but this was questioned in other studies. Medical imaging is indicated only to rule out red flags for potentially serious conditions. The authors also discussed different treatment modalities and concluded that a multidisciplinary approach is probably the most effective. Authors concluded that conservative therapies should be tried first and interventions can be performed when conservative therapies fail. Dr. Christopher Gilligan is the editor in chief of Pain Practice and Dr. Alaa Abd-Elsayed is a section editor of Pain Practice. Data sharing not applicable to this article as no datasets were generated or analyzed during the current study.
