摘要
This paper discusses about the relative analysis of induction machine (1M), reluctance machine (RM) and permanent-magnet machine (PMM) and determines the most promising machine for electric vehicle (EV) traction. Recently, environmental issues, such as global warming, have aroused broad concern, which boosts the development of electric vehicles and electric motor machines. The history and electric drive system are briefly introduced. Then, the details of electric machine classification are illustrated. After that, the merits and demerits of the three machines are analyzed individually based on their structures and working principles. To determine the most suitable machine for electric vehicle (EV) traction, several characteristics, such as torque density, power density, efficiency, cost and torque ripple, are considered, and 1M, RM and PMM are quantitatively compared according to these characteristics. The results show that 1M is the most widely applicated motor machine in EV s while IPM is currently the most promising motor machine. However, motor machines still face many challenges, such as solving high-frequency effects and developing new topologies.
