Digital transformation of government, innovation resource reallocation, and urban resilience: The key elements needed to build an efficient and sustainable society

IMPACTDigital transformation of government (DTG) is not only an important part of modern social governance but it can also be an important tool for countries to deal with geopolitical conflicts and global economic turmoil. Urban resilience is an important indicator for the sustainable development of cities and this article explains how DTG affects the resilience of urban development. Through theoretical and empirical analysis, the authors conclude that DTG can effectively enhance the economic resilience of cities; DTG can change the urban innovation capacity by influencing the reallocation of urban innovation resources; and the impact of DTG on the resilience of urban development is completely different in different cities. These findings provide useful guidance for managers to realize the construction of ‘e-government’ and promote the transparency, accountability and sustainable development of society.
