Effect of anabolic steroid on experimental wound healing in calves

Nandralone Laurate, an anabolic steroid, was administered i.m. @ 50 mgper calf alternately for 3 days after creating skin deep wounds. The biochemical analysis of granulation tissues collected at 5,10, 15 and 20 days after wounding indicated that anabolic steroid administration leads to significant increase in the levels of alkaline phosphatase, protein, DNA and RNA of granulation tissue when compared with their respective controls.
