摘要
Abstract For the vast majority of independent photovoltaic (PV) systems to consistently supply electricity to the load during times of poor solar irradiation, they require an energy storage medium. Photovoltaic panels are not a dependable source for supplying the load and charging batteries for future usage due to their reliance on weather conditions and inconsistent output, making it challenging to maintain an ideal charge/discharge cycle. Combining supercapacitors/ultracapacitors and Li-ion batteries could be used to resolve the previously described issue and improve the system’s overall effectiveness and dependability. This hybrid system’s main goals are to increase battery life and offer a reliable DC power source. The hybrid energy storage system developed using MATLAB Simulink is used to control the energy management system. The chosen battery charging strategy and a maximum power point tracking (MPPT) function will both be included in the energy management system. The simulation findings demonstrate that while supplying energy to the DC motor load and other related DC load applications, the hybrid storage system may achieve greater efficiency and reliability than the battery storage system.
