摘要
Two-dimensional scatterers placed in a configuration, called as metasurface, have the potential to manipulate the amplitude, phase, and polarization of the incident wave. The all-dielectric nanostructures pave the way in supporting both the electric and magnetic resonances, which excite the polarization currents. The antiphase oscillation of the electric and the toroidal dipole multipoles describes the formation of the non-radiating state termed as “Anapole” [1]. It accompanies the strong confinement of electromagnetic energy inside the resonator, which can be used for various applications such as optical switching, sensing, spectroscopy and nonlinearity. The meta-atoms can be engineered in such a way that electric polarization gives the magnetic response and vice versa. This bianisotropic response leads to the asymmetric reflection and transmission. The phenomenon also possesses the mechanism of magnetoelectric coupling, the study of which along with the non-radiating state has the ability to enhance the coupling parameters.
