Isoprene was obtained by dehydrogenation, involving the isomerization of 2-methyl-2-butene into 2-methyl-1-butene. Notably, isoprene was produced through the dehydrogenation following isomerization using the Fe/SiO 2 catalyst in the presence of H 2 S.
