摘要
Binary chromophore organic glasses, a new class of electro-optic (EO) materials, has recently shown to exhibit EO activities of 300-500 pm/V at telecommunication wavelengths. These composite materials also exhibit low optical loss (2 dB/cm) and good thermal stability (glass transition temperatures of 200degC). This article considers the characteristics of these materials responsible for these extraordinary properties.
