摘要
This symposium is based on the premise that the construct of time and the context of family firm provide an intellectually stimulating arena to employ multi-disciplinary perspectives and methodologies to generate usable knowledge. In this symposium, thirteen researchers from the six countries of Australia, Chile, Italy, Netherlands, UK, and USA will present five empirical papers building and testing theory related to time in the context of family firms. The topics of study include long-term orientation, reputation, affective commitment, effects of disruptive events on entrepreneurial orientation and continuity of the business over time. By understanding factors that enhance the longevity of these firms and thus the livelihoods of those dependent on them, we contribute to the theme of the 2018 Academy of Management conference.
