Neighborhoods, Aging, and Functional Limitations

Abstract This chapter makes a case for the importance of studying neighborhood effects on functional limitations in late life. It reviews existing literature and proposes a theoretical model to guide future research on the health effects of neighborhoods on older persons. Public policy implications are discussed.
