The rate of human evolution and productivity increased exponentially with each third Industrial Revolution, as well as the previous two (Industry 4.0) currently well under way. The way things are created, produced, and delivered is experiencing a significant technological transformation in the manufacturing sector. All physical assets must be quickly and completely digitalized in order to be integrated into digital ecosystems as part of Industry 4.0. It provides significant opportunities for future innovation and business growth. Modern technology, such as artificial intelligence (AI), the internet of things (IoT), big data, machine learning (ML), and other developing technologies, is being used to achieve Industry 4.0. Artificial intelligence has lately seen significant advancements in Industry 4.0 (AI). Industries are focusing on increasing product consistency, productivity, and reducing operating costs in the hopes of achieving these goals by combining human and robotic work. Smart industries’ hyperconnected production 398processes rely on numerous devices that interact via AI automation systems by gathering and comprehending all data kinds. Modern manufacturing can be transformed in significant ways by the use of intelligent automation technologies. Industries will use AI to process data supplied from those devices based on their goal to include IoT devices and linked machines into their equipment. In this chapter, we will discuss about the introduction to Industry 4.0 which will be covered in the first section. The study’s second part, which is based on a review of the literature, attempts to summarize how significant AI is to the implementation of Industry 4.0. The third section of the article lists the important developments and numerous difficulties that have made it possible to apply AI. The chapter concludes by outlining and discussing significant AI for Industry 4.0 applications.
