A Case Study from Critical Discourse Analysis

Critical discourse analysis aims to reveal the relationship among discourse,ideology and power through analyzing linguistic features.In the public letter of a dominant company in China,the choices and use of personal pronouns,transitivity and discourse serve for its ideology and attempt to control readers' minds.Analyzing the letter from the perspective of CDA would enable the readers to take critical reading towards the public discourse and help them enhance their critical language awareness.
