Determination of Total Alkaloid and Berberine Contents in Different Organs from Coptis omeiensis

ObjectiveTo determine the total alkaloid and berberine contents in rhizome,fibre,lamina and petiole organs from Coptis omeiensis.MethodsThe total alkaloid and berberine contents were determined by UV and HPLC methods respectively.ResultsRhizome,fibre,lamina and petiole organs obtain alkaloid and berberine contents.ConclusionThe comparatively high contents in total alkaloid and berberine in the overground organs of Coptis omeiensis may provide guidance for tissue culture and resource protection.
