To develop the reactor for biomass pyrolysis, a 150mm diameter cylindrical spoutfluid bed contactor with draft tube was established. In this paper, the effect of the distributor's cone angle in hydrodynamics of this contactor was investigated on the different spout and fluid gas velocity at room temperature. The results show that for the three cone angle radians: 60?75?90, all of the solid circulation rate and bed pressure dropped from 60°to 75° and then increased from 75° to 90° when the other factors were all the same. The cone angle also affected the operating stability of the bed. According to the phenomena of the experiment and the hydrodynamics of spoutedfluidized bed, the authors found that 90°was the distributor's cone angle in this contactor .
