Influence of sP-selectin on portal vein thrombosis after cirrhotic portal hypertension surgery

Objective To investigate the influence of sP-selectin on portal vein thrombosis(PVT) after portal hypertension surgery in liver cirrhosis. Methods 52 patients were undergone surgery for portal hypertension in hepatitis B associated with cirrhosis. The dynamic changes of perioperative quantity of platelets and the level of sP-selectin were monitored,and the difference of these index were analyzed between the thrombosis and non-thrombosis group. Results There were no difference of the quantity of platelets between two groups,but there were significant difference in the level of sP-selectin 4-6 days postoperatively(P0.05. Conclusion The change of function of platelets could play more important role in PVT formation after portal hypertension operation in hepatitis B associated with cirrhosis.
