Screening of Actions of 211 Herbal Formulae for Diabetes with Aldose Reductase

Objective To select scientific herbal formulae for diabetes in high flux model by screening the actions of 211 herbal formulae with aldose reductase.Methods Extract aldose reductase from pig lens,determine indirectly the method of enzymatic active aldose reductase by measuring slowdown rates at optical density 340 nm and compare the repression of aldose reductase of 6630 prepared samples in 211 herbal formulae.Results Five groups of the prepared samples out of the 4 herbal formulae could specifically inhibit the aldose reductase.Conclusion Screening method of high flux model with aldose reductase is convenient and efficient in selecting herbal formulae for diabets.
